Coach Your Coach for KidSport

We have all fantasized about turning the tables on our coaches – watching them sweat as they run through the grueling drills we do every week. What if you could get your revenge – and help kids in your community off the sidelines at the same time?

How: Using our Coach the Coach fundraising link, pledge to raise a min $100 as a team. Team members can commit to donating a certain dollar amount, or could seek out donations from your friends, family, neighbours or local businesses. All donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. Then, pick a date to coach your coach, and invite your community to watch them sweat! Team members can run their coaches through their favorite (or least favorite) drills, making sure to get videos of the entertainment that ensues. Post those videos on social media with the hashtags #KidSportCoachtheCoach #SoALLKidsCanPlay and #KidSport25 to challenge other teams to join in! Need to see how it is done – check out our partners at the Calgary Hitmen who are the first team to Coach the Coach!  See their video here and see all our current Coach the Coach video submissions here

Why: Getting revenge on your coach is pretty fun, and it’s great to work with your team toward a common fundraising goal. But the real reason why you should coach your coach is to help other kids who don’t have the opportunity to play. Over 13,000 kids in Alberta rely on their local KidSport chapters to get off the sidelines – and to access the lifelong benefits of sport. By raising funds for your local KidSport chapter, you are giving the gift of sport to a local kid and making your community better for years to come.  Have fun with it, rally your team around something a bit outside of your normal day while having a great impact on local kids!
