Patricia has represented Canada in three sports over the past 20 years, and none of them have involved chasing a wheel of cheese down a mountain\u2026 yet.<\/p>\n
Growing up in small town Quebec, Patricia was fortunate to be involved in a variety of activities: from figure skating to equestrian and everything in between.
\nPatricia focused on rugby at the college, university, provincial and national levels while still in Quebec. With the Quebec Senior Women\u2019s Team, she is a National Champion (2000, 2001) and was part of the Canadian National Team program from 2001 – 2005.<\/p>\n
An adventure to Fort McMurray for work, and a few club rugby games later, Patricia took up the sport of Triathlon. In this new activity, Patricia competed in various events in Alberta and British Columbia and represented Canada at the 2010 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
\nAfter moving from Fort McMurray to Calgary, Patricia tried the sport of Australian Rules Football in 2015. She represented Alberta in 2016, with the team winning the national championship. She was then named to the Canadian National Women’s Team, competing at the 2017 International Cup in Melbourne, Australia, finishing with a Silver medal.
\nPatricia\u2019s drive to continually challenge herself led her to play for the Calgary Rage, a women\u2019s elite tackle football team, starting in 2022, a \u201ccouple\u201d of years after she played for the Montreal Blitz. And why not try out for the National Women\u2019s Tackle Football Team? Patricia attended the 2022 ID Camp and was selected to the Camp\u2019s Red & White game as one of the top 70 players in Canada!
\nPatricia continuously returns to her first love, rugby, and will represent Canada yet again with the Canadian Classics as the women\u2019s program is stood up with their first match against the US in Newfoundland & Labrador in August 2022.
\nPatricia has no doubt that everything she’s learned about life and how to interact with others – both on the field of play and off of it – has been through sport. Patricia wants all kids to have that same opportunity and supports KidSport Calgary & Area in their mission to remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing organized sport.
