SCOTIABANK JOINS THE CALGARY FLAMES FOUNDATION TO DONATE HELMETS TO FAMILIES AND INDIGENOUS YOUTH IN SOUTHERN ALBERTA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Calgary, AB \u2013<\/strong>Scotiabank and the Calgary Flames Foundation are proud to announce the donation of 500 helmets to community groups throughout southern Alberta, which will be distributed by the Calgary Flames Sports Bank. Scotiabank is the official helmet sponsor of the Calgary Flames.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Half of the helmets will be distributed to qualified low-income families and groups, including: KidSport Calgary & Area and southern Alberta KidSport families, child and family services and at risk youth programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, immigration services and Canadian newcomers.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

The Calgary Flames Sports Bank will distribute the remaining helmets to a variety of Indigenous Communities including, Siksika Nation, Tsuu\u2019Tina Nation, Stoney Nation Bearspaw (Eden Valley), Stoney Nation Chiniki (Morley), Piikani Nation and Kainai.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cWe are extremely proud to work so closely with the Calgary Flames, The Calgary Flames Foundation and now their great partner Scotiabank, to get kids the support they need to play. Today\u2019s announcement and generous contribution from Scotiabank is a testament to the strength of these partnerships and our combined commitment to our community. Five hundred new helmets will have a huge impact on every child who will put one on thanks to this initiative.\u00a0 A new helmet is more than just a safe piece of equipment that every child should have. It also provides the kids we serve with added confidence and pride as they step onto the ice with a big smile and shiny new helmet thanks to Scotiabank.\u201d
