KidSport Calgary & Area provides grants of up to $500 per eligible child, per year (January 1st – December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\r\n Do you need equipment in order to play? Piano Lessons, Girl Guides, Scouts are not eligible for funding)<\/p>\r\n Must be instructor\/coach led sport programming (Drop-In Fees are not eligible)<\/p>\r\n Must be 90% sport if other activities are included in the program<\/p>\r\n We do not provide financial assistance for child care, before and after school care, private sport lessons, non sport programs or City of Calgary Recreation programs as they offer their own fee assistance for those programs.<\/p>\r\n What communities are covered by KidSport Calgary & Area?<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n KidSport Calgary proudly services Calgary and area. This includes the City of Calgary and the communities located within a 50km radius of Calgary.<\/p>\r\n Communities we work with “So\u00a0All<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Kids Can Play” include those within the 50km radius including but not limited to: You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program’s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\r\n KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\r\n How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\r\n If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\r\n How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your statement.<\/p>\r\n You may also request your statement by mail.<\/p>\r\n What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.<\/p>\r\n Is my information kept private and confidential?<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n Yes, all your personal information will be stored securely and destroyed once appropriate. Our online application system is secure and trustworthy.
