KidSport Crowsnest Pass provides grants of up to $350 per eligible child, per year (January 1st &#8211; December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need equipment in order to play? Let us know, and we can make a referral to a partner agency. KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees, travel and competitions are <strong>not<\/strong> eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport Alberta uses the federal government low income guidelines plus approximately 50% to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n<figure>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/114\/Financial-Eligibility-2026-800x593.png\" alt=\"Financial Eligibility 2026\" height=\"593\" width=\"800\" title=\"Financial Eligibility 2026\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n\t<p>To determine financial eligibility for grants provided through the KidSport Crowsnest Pass, the applicant needs to submit one of the following documents. Proof of income for each adult in the home is required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canada Child Benefit Notice &#8211; page 1 and 2 most recent tax year<\/li>\n<li>Proof of Income Statement &#8211;\u00a0 accessed through CRA My Account (Needed for ALL adults in home)<\/li>\n<li>Notice of Assessment for most recent tax year (Needed for ALL adults in home)<\/li>\n<li>Alberta Health Benefits Letter<\/li>\n<li>Proof of Alberta Income Support<\/li>\n<li>Subsidized Housing Letter<\/li>\n<li>Child Health Benefit letter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are unsure of your eligibility to receive a grant, please reach out to <a href=\"mailto:crowsnestpass@kidsport.ab.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>crowsnestpass@kidsport.ab.ca<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\t<h3>How Do I Apply?<\/h3>\n\t<ol>\n<li>Apply online or use the paper application form &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Your completed application will be processed within 10 days of being received. Calendar year runs from January 1 &#8211; December 31.<\/li>\n<li>If the child needs equipment, we will make a referral to a partner agency.<\/li>\n<li>Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees, travel to competitions is not eligible for funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\">What sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>To be eligible for a Kidsport grant, a sport must provide a sustained sport experience, is taught by qualified instructors and meet Sport Canada&#8217;s definition of a sport.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Programs that are required in order to attain a competitive level (i.e. swim lessons) are also eligible for funding. Transportation costs, competition fees,and equipment fees are not eligible for funding.<\/li>\n<li>Sports covered in the past by KidSport Crowsnest Pass include, but are not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Skiing\/Snowboarding<\/li>\n<li>Hockey<\/li>\n<li>Martial Arts<\/li>\n<li>Dance<\/li>\n<li>Gymnastics<\/li>\n<li>Soccer<\/li>\n<li>Baseball<\/li>\n<li>Lacrosse<\/li>\n<li>Swimming<\/li>\n<li>School Sports<\/li>\n<li>Track &amp; Field<\/li>\n<li>Skating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s best to submit your application as far in advance as possbile prior to the start of the intended sport.<\/li>\n<li>Programs that are complete are not eligible for funding.<\/li>\n<li>Applications are reviewed by KidSport within 10 days. Cheques for approved applications are mailed to the sport club directly within two weeks of the approval date. You will receive an email confirming your application result. Please note incomplete applications will delay the process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/li>\n<li>If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>KidSport uses household income as the primary determiner of eligibility.<\/li>\n<li>KidSport will consider extraordinary circumstances if the household income is higher than the stated amounts.<\/li>\n<li>Families who are low income, on AISH, or receiving income support through provincial government are all considered eligible.<\/li>\n<li>All applications MUST be supported by financial documentation. We understand that you may not have this documentation readily available. If this is the case, please submit the application and we will be in contact with you to provide guidance.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant needs to submit one of the following documents.
