KidSport Edmonton provides grants of <strong>up to $300 <\/strong>per eligible child<strong>,<\/strong> per calendar year (January 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0&#8211; December 31<sup>st<\/sup> ) toward sport registration fees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Do you need equipment in order to play? Let us know on your application, and we can make a referral to our partner agency <u><a title=\"https:\/\/www.sportcentral.org\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportcentral.org\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\" data-ogsc=\"\">Sport Central<\/a><\/u>. KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees only; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t<h2>Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n\t<p>KidSport Edmonton uses the federal government&#8217;s low-income (LICO) guidelines, plus approximately 50%, to determine <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/117\/KidSport-Edmonton-LICO-2025.pdf\">financial eligibility<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To determine financial eligibility for grants provided through KidSport Edmonton, the applicant needs to submit one of the following <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/117\/Acceptable-Financial-Documents-when-Submitting-a-KidSport-Edmonton-Grant-Application.pdf\">acceptable financial documents<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canada Child Benefit Notice (base year 2024) &#8211; <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/117\/CCB-Notice-2024-Instructions.png.pdf\">Find instructions here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>City of Edmonton Leisure Access Program (LAP) Registration Letter (Must include expiry dates)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are unsure of your eligibility to receive a grant, please reach out to Program Team at <a href=\"mailto:edmonton@kidsport.ab.ca\">edmonton@kidsport.ab.ca.<\/a><\/p>\n\t<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n\t<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Find a sport program your kid would like to join and register them. Let the program&#8217;s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding.<\/li>\n<li>Apply <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\">online<\/a>, through the <a href=\"https:\/\/na3.documents.adobe.com\/public\/esignWidget?wid=CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhBMuJ9WcRZAR4hiPF6ERBCak8cjrZlRBypEDql5dQ6uJey3sh4S6PpxTKIJSu7RjPI*\">webform<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/117\/2026-KidSport-Edmonton-Paper-Application-Fillable.pdf\">paper application form<\/a> &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application and submit ALL required documents. Incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Your completed application will be processed <strong>within 4 weeks<\/strong> of being received.
