Scroll down to learn more about our program and get answers to all of your questions.\n\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAPPLY ONLINE NOW\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h2>\n\t\tWhat is a Grant?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Fort Saskatchewan provides grants of up to $500 per eligible child, per year (January 1st &#8211; December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need equipment in order to play? Let us know, and we can make a referral to a partner agency. KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport Fort Saskatchewan uses the Canadian Low Income guidelines (before Tax plus 30%) to determine financial eligibility for grants (Line 236 of your tax assessment).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 person household &#8211; max $47,549<\/li>\n<li>3 person household &#8211; max $58,456<\/li>\n<li>4 person household &#8211; max $70,972<\/li>\n<li>5 person household &#8211; max $80,496<\/li>\n<li>6 person household &#8211; max $90,786<\/li>\n<li>7+ person household &#8211; max $101,076<\/li>\n<li>This was updated February 2023. If you are unsure of your eligibility to receive a grant, please reach out to <a href=\"mailto:fortsask@kidsport.ab.ca\">fortsask@kidsport.ab.ca.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3>How Do I Apply?<\/h3>\n\t<p>Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program&#8217;s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"[find_chapter]\">Click here<\/a> to find your local KidSport Chapter, or see if you are covered by the provincial fund<\/li>\n<li>Apply online or use the paper application form &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Attach proof of registration (if possible as this will speed up processing of applications).<\/li>\n<li>Your completed application will be processed within 30 days of being received. KidSport grants help cover the cost of registration fees, So ALL Kids Can Play!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">What does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and so cannot be applied to\u00a0 transportation or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">What sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Any sport (individual or team ; sport camps) that provides qualified instruction and involves physical activity is eligible for a KidSport grant. A gym membership is NOT considered a valid sporting activity.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">What communities are covered by KidSport Fort Saskatchewan?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Kids residing in Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding communites of Ardrossan, Josephburg, Bruderheim, Lamont, Gibbons, Redwater and Bon Accord are eligible to apply for a grant.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program&#8217;s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n<p>Programs that are complete are not eligible for funding and KidSport cannot reimburse the family for fees already paid to the sport organization.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n<p>If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>We strongly recommend using your most current year&#8217;s Tax Assessment from all adults in the home. Your Proof of Income Statement can be accessed through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRA My Account<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may also request your statement by mail.<\/p>\n<p>Other acceptable documents to provide proof of eligibility are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alberta Child Health Benefits letter<\/li>\n<li>AISH<\/li>\n<li>Subsidized housing<\/li>\n<li>Income support<\/li>\n<li>Canada Child Benefit notice- page one &amp; two required<\/li>\n<li>last 3 consecutive pay stubs from all adults in the home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-7\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\">What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-7\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-8\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-8\">Is my information kept private and confidential?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-8\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-8\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yes, all your personal information will be stored securely and destroyed once appropriate.
