2021 GIVE THE GIFT OF SPORT CAMPAIGN GOAL – $1,000,000
Entering its 10th season, Give the Gift of Sport is an annual fundraising campaign to raise money to help all kids participate in organized sport. Each year, KidSport runs this national campaign from November to January to help get more kids off the sidelines and into the game the following year.
The Goal
When the Give the Gift of Sport first launched back in 2012, nearly $9,000 was raised. Since then, we’ve come a long way raising over 1 million during the past 9 seasons of the annual campaign. To mark the 10th anniversary, we’re gearing up and shooting for $1,000,000! That translates into over 3,000 children & youth being given the chance to participate in the sport of their choice.
The Reality
Currently, 1 in 3 kids aren’t able to play sports due to financial barriers. Through our fundraising efforts, more and more children are able to sign up and join their peers. Every dollar donated brings us one step closer to reducing the financial gap.
Do you remember that season when a tie felt like a win? Or when a coach gave a piece of advice that seems to stand the test of time? Those defining moments are special in life and there are kids who still haven’t experienced being part of a team.
The benefits of sport go beyond the pitch and shape their wellbeing in everyday life.
The Options
How you choose to donate is entirely up to you. You can select a chapter to make a direct impact in the community of your choice or support the national or provincial funds. Your generous contribution will make a lasting impression and for that we are sincerely grateful. You can also make a tribute donation in honour, memory, or celebration of someone.
The Details
Beginning November 15th is your chance to bring things full circle. The same experiences you felt in sport growing up can be felt by children today with your help. Your donation will provide kids the opportunity to play, just like you did.
Your generosity can lead anywhere from a new skill to a medal.
