Scroll down to learn more about our program and get answers to all of your questions.\n\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAPPLY ONLINE NOW\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h2>\n\t\tWhat is a Grant?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Parkland provides grants of up to $350 per eligible child, per year (January 1st &#8211; December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need equipment in order to play? Let us know, and we can make a referral to a partner agency. KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport Parkland uses the following eligibility requirements to determine financial eligibility for grants provided through the Provincial Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred financial verification:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most recent Notice of Assessment for ALL adults in household.\u00a0 (use line 236, taxable income)<\/li>\n<li>Canada Child Tax Benefit notice pg 1\/2<\/li>\n<li>Children\/youth from families on low income, unemployed, on AISH, currently receiving income support and\/or working hard to make ends meet are all considered eligible. KidSport Parkland considers social and economic barriers facing the child&#8217;s family when determining eligibility.The maximum family income for KidSport Parkland funding is $45,000 for one child, and follows the Low Income cut-offs (LICO) before tax depending on family size or extenuating circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are unsure of your eligibility to receive a grant, please reach out to <strong>parkland@kidsport.ab.ca<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t<h3>How Do I Apply?<\/h3>\n\t<p>Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program&#8217;s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"[find_chapter]\">Click here<\/a> to find your local KidSport Chapter, or see if you are covered by the provincial fund<\/li>\n<li>Apply online or use the paper application form &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Your completed application will be processed within 30 days of being received. KidSport grants help cover the cost of registration fees, So ALL Kids Can Play!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">What does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and so can\/cannot be applied to equipment, transportation, or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program&#8217;s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n<p>KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n<p>If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Your Proof of Income Statement can be accessed through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRA My Account<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your statement.<\/p>\n<p>You may also request your statement by mail.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\">What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\">Is my information kept private and confidential?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yes, all your personal information will be stored securely and destroyed once appropriate. Our online application system is secure and trustworthy.
