KidSport Peace Country provides grants of up to $350 per eligible child, per year (January 1st &#8211; December 31st) towards sport registration fees except ice hockey fees.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Ice Hockey registration fees, for the 2025-2026 season, approved applicants may access a maximum funding amount of $750 per child . Let the program&#8217;s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Apply online or use the paper application form &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Votre demande d\u00fbment remplie sera trait\u00e9e dans les 30 jours suivant sa r\u00e9ception. KidSport Peace Country gives grants to families in order to help remove any financial barriers towards any sport. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and cannot be applied to transportation or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\">Quels sports sont admissibles?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport Peace Country provides support for kids registered in programs that provide a sustained sport experience (6+ weeks in duration), are taught by qualified instructors, and meet Sport Canada&#8217;s definition of a sport. Sport Canada defines a sport as an activity that involves two or more participants engaging in a competition. It involves formal rules and procedures, and requires tactics and strategies, neuromuscular skills and a high degree of difficulty, risk and effort. Programs that are required in order to attain a competitive level (i.e. swim lessons) are also eligible for funding.<\/p>\n<p>Transportation costs and tournament fees are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\">What communities are covered by KidSport Peace Country?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Kidsport Peace Country serves children and youth living in the City of Grande Prairie or within the Peace Country Region: west to the BC border, east to Valleyview, south to Grovedale, north to the NWT Border.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure if your community falls in the Peace Country catchment area send a text to 780 518 5506 and we will let you know.<\/p>\n<p>If you are outside our boundaries, you can apply to the <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/alberta\/peace-country\/fr\/alberta\/provincial-fund\/\">Kidsport Provincial Fund.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\">Quelle est la date limite pour pr\u00e9senter une demande?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>It is best to register your child in the sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. By registering with the sport you also get information needed to apply online.\u00a0 Each program is different, some only require the Registration ID # but many may require that KidSport funding prior to the program&#8217;s start date.
