Scroll down to learn more about our program and get answers to all of your questions.\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAPPLY ONLINE NOW\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tAbout KidSport Grants\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Children 18 and younger could be eligible for up to $300 per child, per calendar year (January &#8211; December). Parent\/guardians may apply more than one time in a calendar year but the total amount of grant(s) that will be given will not exceed $300<\/li>\n<li>Sport activities must be affiliated with the member sport organizations of Sport BC and demonstrate a sustained sport experience (a season of sport led by a qualified coach) for a\u00a0<strong><u>minimum of 6 weeks<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>and include at least one session per week. For a list of eligible sports, and to find a local club near you, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/\">https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Camps, equipment, travel to playoffs, fundraising, championships, and dance\u00a0<strong><u>do not qualify<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Applications must be received prior to, or at the beginning of the requested season of sport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport\u2122 considers the social and economic barriers facing the athlete&#8217;s family when determining eligibility for funding.<\/p>\n<p>*Statistics Canada&#8217;s Low-Income Guidelines (LICO) are used\u00a0<strong><u>as a guideline<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0to determine financial eligibility. If your income is higher, extenuating circumstances can be taken into account. Register your child in an eligible sport program &#8211; for eligible sports and to find a club in your community visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/\">https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Apply online at <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. Or complete the paper application <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/150\/KidSport-Comox-Valley-Application.pdf\">here<\/a>. Please see details below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will need to submit your Notice of Assessment from the most recent tax year that shows line 15000 for all parent\/guardians in the household. To obtain your most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, contact Revenue Canada at 1-800-959-8281 or log into your CRA Account online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Paper Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the paper application you will need to provide either Financial Verification\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0Endorser Verification. Please see details below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Financial Verification &#8211; please include one of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the most recent tax year showing line 15000 for all parent\/guardians in the household. To obtain a copy of your NOA, contact Revenue Canada at 1-800-959-8281 or log into your CRA Account online<\/li>\n<li>Proof of foster parent status<\/li>\n<li>Proof of income or disability assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Endorser Verification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an endorser complete and sign Section 4 (bottom section) of the paper application. The endorser acts as an objective third party who is familiar with the athlete&#8217;s family and is in a professional position to assess their social and economic barriers<\/li>\n<li>An endorser can be a professional in school administration (principal or vice-principal), counsellor, youth worker, social worker, community\/social servicing agency or a settlement worker<\/li>\n<li>Endorsers cannot be associated with the sports organization, and they cannot be a family member.<\/li>\n<li>Endorsers other than those listed may be considered if a written letter from the Endorser outlining the financial need of the family is included with the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Completed paper application can be emailed to: <a href=\"mailto:kidsport@sportbc.com\">kidsport@sportbc.com<\/a> or to <a href=\"mailto:kidsportcomoxvalley@gmail.com\">kidsportcomoxvalley@gmail.com<\/a>. Please allow up to 60 days for notification of application status<\/p>\n<p>4. The parent\/guardian, or sport organization must notify the KidSport Chapter in their area or KidSport BC if the athlete withdraws from the sport activity. The grant must be used by the athlete for whom the grant was approved &#8211; no portion of the grant can be transferred to someone. <strong>If the application has been approved, KidSport will issue funds directly to the sport organization on behalf of the child.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5. KidSport grants help cover the cost of registration fees, So ALL Kids Can Play!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">What does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and so cannot be applied to equipment, transportation, or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">What sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sport activities must be affiliated with the member sport organizations of Sport BC and demonstrate a sustained sport experience (a season of sport led by a qualified coach) for a <strong><u>minimum of 8 weeks<\/u> <\/strong>and include at least one session per week. For a list of eligible sports, please visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/sportbc.com\/members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.sportbc.com\/members\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">What communities are covered by KidSport Comox Valley?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Comox Valley Area<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program&#8217;s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n<p>KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n<p>If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-6\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Online Application<\/strong><br \/>\nWe use the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment to access financial eligibility. Your Notice of Assessment can be accessed through your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/account-individuals.html\">CRA My Account<\/a>.\n<strong>Paper Application<\/strong><br \/>\nWe use a Financial Verification Endorser as an objective third party who is familiar with the child&#8217;s family and is in a professional position to assess the social and economic barriers facing the family. An Endorser can be a professional in social work or family services, a school principal or counsellor, a senior recreation administrator, accountant, law enforcement officer, a registered physician, or a priest or pastor. Endorsers cannot be associated with the sport organization and they cannot be a family member. For school sports, school principals or counsellors are not accepted as Endorsers.\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-7\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\">What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-7\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-8\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-8\">Is my information kept private and confidential?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-8\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yes, all your personal information will be stored securely and destroyed once appropriate.
