\n\t\t\tKidSport North Shore Committee\t<\/h2>\n\tScott Macfarlane<\/strong>
\nVolunteer Committee Chairperson\n

Scott\u00a0Macfarlane is a long-time North Shore resident, has been a part of the KidSport North Shore since March of 2017, and has been the chapter’s Chairperson since 2020.\u00a0Scott\u00a0has recently retired after a 40-year legal career. He is a dedicated tennis player and is married with two daughters who have always been active in sports. Having seen the positive benefits of sports in his own family,\u00a0Scott\u00a0has a particular passion for helping financially challenged families on the North Shore, so that every child has an opportunity to participate in organized sport.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\tJustin Szott<\/strong>
\nVolunteer Committee Vice Chair\n

Justin joined the KidSport North Shore Board in December 2025.\u00a0\u00a0Growing up in Calgary, he participated in various sports, including football, rugby, and volleyball.\u00a0\u00a0He moved to the North Shore in 2007. After stepping down as Managing Director of a national import wine agency in 2019, Justin has dedicated his time to his two children and community volunteering.\u00a0\u00a0His volunteer work includes co-chairing the Family Services of the North Shore’s Cheer by the Pier and coaching baseball, soccer, football, and rugby.\u00a0\u00a0This coaching experience has deepened his appreciation for the positive impact sports have on everyone’s lives.<\/p>\n

Shannon Webster <\/strong><\/p>\n

Volunteer Committee Member<\/p>\n

Shannon Webster has been a part of KidSport North Shore since January 2017. She grew up on the North Shore and participated in competitive swimming and tennis, Shannon is an elementary school teacher for the North Vancouver School District and brings her value and love of sport and being active into the classroom. Exploring France, Peru, Nepal, Africa, and the West Coast on multi-day hiking trips are just a few of her active adventures. Currently, when not playing pickleball, she is exploring trails with her dog, Bailey.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\tAlice Benson<\/strong>
\nGrants Administrator\n

Alice Benson has been involved with KidSport North Shore since 2008.\u00a0She realized that there was a need for financial assistance for North Shore families while she was the Registrar for a local swim club.\u00a0Having to turn away families because of registration costs was frustrating to say the least, and coincidentally, a new friendship with Karen Lidster, co-founder of KidSport North Shore, sparked her interest to join the team. Carrying on Karen’s legacy is now a priority in her life to ensure that All Kids Can Play! Alice enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, Peloton classes, travelling, and singing with her internationally competitive Lions Gate Chorus.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n\tAngie Mackie<\/strong>
\nVolunteer Committee Member\n

Angie joined KidSport North Shore in 2024. Angie is a registered nurse with a long career of helping people in hospital, teaching student nurses and most recently working in public health. Angie loves movies, a good book and the outdoors. In recent years she has become an avid pickleball player and most days can be found somewhere on a court. As a mother of three young women, Angie has also seen the positive impact and influence of sport on their lives. Angie was introduced to KidSport in 2023 by KSNS Committee member and friend Shannon Webster, who enlisted Angie to volunteer at the KSNS sports equipment sale. So when a spot on the Committee opened up in 2024, Angie was thrilled to become a part of KSNS. Welcome on board Angie!<\/p>\n

\nVolunteer KSNS Newsletter Editor\n

Allison Gibault joined KSNS as a volunteer in April of 2023. \u00a0Allison offers a previous background in marketing & communications together with ECCE to the KidSport team.<\/p>\n

Athletics have been invaluable in Allison’s\u00a0life since she was young, and she recognizes the joy and value of participating in sport through her own daughters. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable kids – and wants to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to play sports.<\/p>\n

Since leaving the workforce to raise her family on the beautiful North Shore, Allison has volunteered with several organizations and is devoted to giving back to her community.<\/p>\n
