Parent\/guardians may apply more than once and for more than one sport in a calendar year but the total amount of grant(s) provided will not exceed $500.00<\/li>\n<li>Sport activities must be affiliated with the member sport organizations of Sport BC and demonstrate a sustained sport experience (a season of sport led by a qualified coach) for a\u00a0<strong><u>minimum of 6 weeks<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>and include at least one session per week. For a list of eligible sports, and to find a local club near you, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/tri-cities-port-moody-port-coquitlam-coquitlam\/fr\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/\">https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Registrations fees only are eligible. Day camps, equipment, travel, fundraising, team fees and championships <strong>do not qualify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Applications should be received prior to, or at the beginning of the requested season of sport. We can provide exceptions for first time applicants but we cannot fund retroactively, the child must be in the sport at the time you apply.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of registration and fees must be provided with each application<\/li>\n<li>YOUR APPLICATION IS REVIEWED IN ORDER OF COMPLETED SUBMISSION. IF DOCUMENTATION IS MISSING, YOUR SUBMISSION DATE IS AMENDED TO RECEIPT DATE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3>Crit\u00e8res d\u2019admissibilit\u00e9<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport\u2122 considers the social and economic barriers facing the athlete&#8217;s family when determining eligibility for funding.<\/p>\n<p>*Statistics Canada&#8217;s Low-Income Guidelines (LICO) are used\u00a0<strong><u>as a guideline<\/u><\/strong> to determine financial eligibility. Register your child in a sport program. <\/strong>If you are unable to register without payment, please obtain confirmation of space availability &amp; fees from the program registrar. To find eligible sports and a club in your community visit <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/tri-cities-port-moody-port-coquitlam-coquitlam\/fr\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/\">https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Apply online\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0If you are unable to apply online, please complete the paper application <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/181\/KidSport-Tri-Cities-Application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Completed paper application can be emailed to: <a href=\"mailto:kidsporttricities@sportbc.com\">kidsporttricities@sportbc.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Paper applications will take longer to process, especially if all fields are not properly completed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Proof of income must be provided. <\/strong>This is your most recent Notice of Assessments all parent\/guardians in the household and your Canada Child Tax Benefit Statement or a Financial Endorser. (see note below)\u00a0 Note:You may also be asked to provide a Financial Endorsement and or\/further questions to determine eligibility.\u00a0 If your annual income is less than $10,000.00, please provide a note as to how you are meeting your expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Proof of sport registration &amp; fees<\/strong> must be uploaded or emailed to kidsporttricities@sportbc.com<\/p>\n<strong><br \/>\n<em>Financial Endorser Information (if required(<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Have an endorser complete and sign Section 4 of the paper application. The endorser acts as an objective third party who is familiar with the athlete&#8217;s family and is in a professional position to assess their social and economic barriers<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>An endorser can be a professional in social work, family services or a settlement worker, a school administrator (principal or vice-principal) or counsellor, or a social servicing organization.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Endorsers cannot be associated with the sports organization, and they cannot be a family member.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>If you need help finding an endorser, please reach out to us at kidsporttricities@sportbc.com<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3>What happens next?<\/h3>\n\t<p><strong>1. Please allow up to 60 days for notification of application status.\u00a0 <\/strong><em>Incomplete &amp; paper applications will take longer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. You will receive an email from <\/strong>donotereply@smartsimplemailer.ca advising of your application status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* On hold &#8211; <\/strong>If your application is on hold, please review the email for information on the missing details and email us at kidsporttricities@sportbc.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Declined<\/strong> &#8211; If your application is declined, please review the email for information as to why.\u00a0 \u00a0If you were declined because you were over the guideline income amount and your income has changed from the NOA provided, please email us with updated income information at kidsporttricities@sportbc.com.\u00a0 If you were declined due to Ineligible Sport, please review the &#8220;Who Do We Fund&#8221; page <a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/tri-cities-port-moody-port-coquitlam-coquitlam\/fr\/british-columbia\/who-do-we-fund\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>Approved<\/strong> &#8211; If your application has been approved funds will generally arrive to your sport organization within the first 2 weeks of the month following your month of approval.\u00a0 <em><strong>If the application has been approved, KidSport will issue funds directly to the sport organization on behalf of the child. If you have already paid, please contact the organization for a refund.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<strong><br \/>\nImportant Notes:<br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>The parent\/guardian, or sport organization must notify the KidSport Chapter in their area or KidSport BC if the athlete withdraws from the sport activity.<\/li>\n<li>The grant must be used by the athlete for whom the grant was approved &#8211; no portion of the grant can be transferred to someone else.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Privacy and Confidentiality\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>KidSport\u2122 respects your privacy. We never sell, trade or loan your information to any other organization. Information provided in this application is being collected for the purpose of administering KidSport\u2122 grants. This information will only be disclosed to KidSport\u2122 personnel who need the information to carry out the responsibilities of their job, and to other organizations who may need to be contacted to process the application. Statistics are reported at the regional, provincial, and national level. Individuals are not personally identified. An Endorser can be a professional in social work or family services, a school principal or counsellor, a senior recreation administrator, accountant, law enforcement officer, a registered physician, or a priest or pastor. Endorsers cannot be associated with the sport organization and they cannot be a family member.
