Scroll down to learn more about our program and get answers to all of your questions.\n\t<\/h3>\n<h2>\n\t\tAbout KidSport Grants\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Children 18 and younger could be eligible for up to $300 per child, per calendar year (January &#8211; December). Parent\/guardians may apply more than one time in a calendar year but the total amount of grant(s) that will be given will not exceed $300<\/li>\n<li>Sport activities must be affiliated with the member sport organizations of Sport BC and demonstrate a sustained sport experience (a season of sport led by a qualified coach) for a\u00a0<strong><u>minimum of 6 weeks<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>and include at least one session per week. For a list of eligible sports, please visit:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sportbc.com\/members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/sportbc.com\/members\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Camps, equipment, travel to playoffs, fundraising, championships, and dance\u00a0<strong><u>do not qualify<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Applications must be received prior to, or at the beginning of the requested season of sport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport\u2122 considers the social and economic barriers facing the athlete&#8217;s family when determining eligibility for funding.<\/p>\n<p>*Statistics Canada&#8217;s Low-Income Guidelines (LICO) are used\u00a0<strong><u>as a guideline<\/u> <\/strong>to determine financial eligibility. Register your child in a sport program.<\/p>\n<p>2. Apply online\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0Or complete the paper application\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsportcanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/185\/KidSport-Williams-Lake.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. Please see below for more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will need to submit your Notice of Assessment from the most recent tax year that shows line 15000 for all income earners in the household. To obtain your most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, contact Revenue Canada at 1-800-959-8281 or log into your CRA Account online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Paper Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the paper application you will need to provide either Financial Verification\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0Endorser Verification. Please see details below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Financial Verification &#8211; please include one of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the most recent tax year showing line 15000 for all income earners in the home. To obtain a copy of your NOA, contact Revenue Canada at 1-800-959-8281 or log into your CRA Account online.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of foster parent status<\/li>\n<li>Proof of income or disability assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Endorser Verification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an endorser complete and sign Section 4 of the paper application. The endorser acts as an objective third party who is familiar with the athlete&#8217;s family and is in a professional position to assess their social and economic barriers<\/li>\n<li>An endorser can be a professional in social work or family services, a school administrator (principal or vice-principal) or counsellor, a senior recreation administrator, accountant, law enforcement officer, social worker, a registered physician, religious leader, or a social servicing organization.<\/li>\n<li>Endorsers other than those listed may be considered if a written letter from the Endorser outlining the financial need of the family is included with the application<\/li>\n<li>Endorsers cannot be associated with the sports organization, and they cannot be a family member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Completed paper application can be emailed to: <a href=\"mailto:kidsportwilliamslake@sportbc.com\">kidsportwilliamslake@sportbc.com<\/a> or to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:kidsport@sportbc.com\">kidsport@sportbc.com.<\/a> The application can also be mailed or delivered to:<\/p>\n<b>Cariboo Memorial Complex<\/b><br \/>\n<b>525 Proctor Street,<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Williams Lake, BC V2G 4J1<\/b>\n<p><strong>Applications can also be faxed to: (250) 392-7884<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3. Please allow up to 30 days for notification of application status<\/p>\n<p>4. The parent\/guardian, or sport organization must notify the KidSport Chapter in their area or KidSport BC if the athlete withdraws from the sport activity. The grant must be used by the athlete for whom the grant was approved &#8211; no portion of the grant can be transferred to someone.\u00a0<strong>If the application has been approved, KidSport will issue funds directly to the sport organization on behalf of the child.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5. KidSport grants help cover the cost of registration fees, So ALL Kids Can Play!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">What does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs and are intended solely for registration fees.\u00a0 KidSport grants are paid directly to the sport association and therefore cannot be applied to equipment, transportation, or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">What sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sport activities must be affiliated with the member sport organizations of Sport BC and demonstrate a sustained sport experience (a season of sport led by a qualified coach) for a\u00a0<strong><u>minimum of 6 weeks<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>and include at least one session per week. For a list of eligible sports, please visit our Sport BC website\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sportbc.com\/members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">What communities are covered by KidSport Williams Lake?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Williams Lake and north to McLeese Lake, south to 150 Mile House &amp; Dog Creek, east to Horsefly &amp; Likely, and west to Alexis Creek.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>You must register your child in an eligible sport program prior to applying for KidSport funding. On your application please indicate that you are applying for KidSport funds.<\/p>\n<p>Each program is different, and some do require registration funding be received prior to the program&#8217;s start date. With that in mind, you should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after you register your child.\u00a0 When our Registrar receives an application she contacts the local sport organization to let them know of your application and to inform them when it may be approved.\u00a0 The KidSport committee meets monthly therefore it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n<p>KidSport Williams Lake does not cover fees for late registrations that some sport clubs charge, so please try to have applications completed and submitted on time.<\/p>\n<p>Also note that KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n<p>If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n<p>After our monthly meetings, which are in the 3rd week of every month, all on-line and paper applicants will receive a phone call updating the status of your application.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-6\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Your Proof of Income Statement (<b>Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment AND Endorsement Letter) <\/b>can be accessed through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRA My Account<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your NOA statement.<\/p>\n<p>You may also request your statement by mail.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-7\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\">What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-7\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kidsportcanada.ca\/british-columbia\/\">KidSport Provincial Fund<\/a>. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"void(0);\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-8\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-8\">Is my information kept private and confidential?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-8\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-8\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yes, all your personal information will be stored securely and destroyed once appropriate.
