Updated Statement – June 19, 2020

We have started to receive questions regarding the official “Return to Sport” in our province and how this impacts KidSport funding applications. We are working on directions for next steps and will be sharing those as soon as possible, so you can then direct actions for registrants. Currently in BC, our Sport BC members have either had their official “Return to Sport” plans approved or are close to that step. Each sport has unique considerations to deal with, but overall there is an effort to have modified sport be available. We do know that any sport moving forward will likely be very different than in the past, more of a focus on skill development and practices, no official games or contacts etc. We will work on the overall statement and direction to be shared as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we encourage all British Columbian children to find ways to keep working on your sport skills and physical fitness at home so that you are ready to hit the playing field when sport returns.

Sincerely,
