On July 8th, the Sport Manitoba facility buzzed with energy as nearly 60 kids came together to shoot foul shots for a fantastic cause. The Foul-Shot-Athon, a partnership between KidSport and the Winnipeg Sea Bears, proved to be a slam dunk, raising an impressive $5,000 to support youth sports in Manitoba.
Participants of all ages and skill levels took to the court, showing off their free-throw prowess for two hours. The event was more than just a fun-filled afternoon of basketball—it was a testament to the power of community and the joy of sport.

KidSport Manitoba, the driving force behind the Foul-Shot-Athon, continues profoundly impacting young athletes’ lives. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that all kids aged 18 and under in Manitoba have the opportunity to play a season of sport. By providing grants to cover registration fees, KidSport helps remove financial barriers, making sports accessible to everyone. Each year, we administer grants of up to $500 per child, opening the door to a world of athletic opportunities for Manitoba’s youth.
