\n\t\tWhat is a Grant?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport New Brunswick provides grants of up to $400 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st – December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\n

If the child needs equipment, we will make a referral to a partner agency. Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t

Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t

KidSport New Brunswick primarily uses the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) to assess financial eligibility for grants. We also accept the CRA Notice of Assessment (NOA) as an alternative. If you are applying with a CRA Notice of Assessment, please provide one NOA for each parent or guardian in the household. Be sure that the total income (line 15000) on the NOA combined for both parents does not exceed the income limits listed below for your family size..\u00a0<\/p>\n

We understand that families may face circumstances that can impact their income, and we are sensitive to these situations. If this applies to your family, we kindly ask that you provide an explanation of the extenuating circumstances that have affected your financial situation, so we can better assess your eligibility for funding. \u00a0<\/p>\n

How Do I Apply?<\/h3>\n\t
    \n
  1. Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program’s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding.<\/li>\n
  2. Click here<\/a> to find your local KidSport New Brunswick, or see if you are covered by the provincial fund<\/li>\n
  3. Apply online or use the paper application form – be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n
  4. Your completed application will be processed within 30 days from the following deadlines:\u00a0 January 30th, March 1st, June 1st, and August 1st.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you qualify for KidSport funding, the grant will be sent directly to the sport program your kid has signed up for.<\/p>\n

    KidSport New Brunswick gives grants to families to help remove financial barriers to sport. Since 1993, we have helped nearly 1 million kids off the sidelines and into a season of sport!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and so cannot be applied to equipment, transportation, or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    Sport activities must be recognized by the member organizations of Sport New Brunswick.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat communities do we serve?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    KidSport New Brunswick has seven chapters, each serving their local community. Communities that do not yet have a KidSport chapter are covered by the KidSport New Brunswick Provincial Fund. Click the drop-down menu at the top of the screen to see a list of our chapters.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhen is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\tYou must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program’s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed. There are three deadlines:

    \nMay 1
    \nSeptember 1\n

    KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tHow will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n

    If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tHow do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

    We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your statement.<\/p>\n
