Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce that more than $1.1 million in sport funding was allocated to over 2,700 Nova Scotian children in 2023. This is the first ever year grant contributions surpassed the million-dollar mark due to a significant increase in funding contributions.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery child deserves the opportunity to participate in sport\u201d, said Allan MacMaster, Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. \u201cThis investment from the Province of Nova Scotia will ensure that cost is not a barrier to a child\u2019s hope of enjoying participation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The province\u2019s 13 KidSport chapters provide grants to help cover the costs of sport registration and equipment fees so that all kids aged 18 and under can play a season of sport. Since 1994, the non-profit organization has assisted over 34,700 children get in the game.<\/p>\n
