\n\t\tQu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019une subvention?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Kings \/ West Hants provides grants of up to $500<\/strong> per eligible kid<\/strong>, per year (January 1st – December 31st)\u00a0 towards sport registration fees.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If the child needs equipment, we will provide a voucher so you can get the right gear from our equipment partner Cleve’s Source for Sports. Grants are intended to be used for sport registration and equipment fees; travel and competition fees are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t

Crit\u00e8res d\u2019admissibilit\u00e9<\/h3>\n\t

KidSport Kings \/ West Hants uses\u00a0a\u00a0CRA Notice of Assessment\u00a0<\/b>as the primary document to determine financial eligibility for grants.<\/p>\n

We also accept\u00a0Social Income Assistance Statement, an<\/strong>\u00a0endorsement from the Department of Community Services, or an endorsement from Indigenous Social Development<\/b>\u00a0to determine financial eligibility for grants, if applicable.<\/p>\n

If applying with a Notice of Assessment (one for each parent\/guardian in the household) please ensure your total income (line 15000) does not exceed the cut offs listed below for your family size:<\/p>\n

2 person family – $36,576<\/p>\n

3 person family – $44,966<\/p>\n

4 person family – $54,594<\/p>\n

5 person family – $61,920<\/p>\n

6 person family – $69,835<\/p>\n

7 person family or more – $77,751<\/p>\n

Que dois-je faire pour demander une subvention?<\/h3>\n\t

  1. Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program’s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding. To view a list of eligible sport programs please click\u00a0here.<\/a> Please note that dance, swimming lessons, competition fees and travel fees are not eligible for funding.<\/li>\n

  3. Apply online or use the paper application form – be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n
  4. Completed application will be processed within 30 days of the deadline you’re applying for.<\/li>\n
  5. Our application deadline dates are the first working day in the month of January, March, May, June, July, September, October and November.<\/li>\n
  6. If you qualify for KidSport funding, the grant will be sent directly to the sport program your kid has signed up for.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program’s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n
