From Pickering, Ontario John Moonlight is Canada’s most capped 7’s player with 65 World Series tournaments, 3 Commonwealth Games, and 2 PanAm Games. John won gold medals in 2011 and 2015 PanAm games and also lead Canada to their first World Series win in Singapore in 2017. John was voted to the World Series “dream team” (voted the best player in his position) in 2013/14 season alongside teammate Phil Mack. John also won Canada 7s player of the year 4 times in a row from 2012-15.
Currently a firefighter in his hometown, John is always looking to give back to the sporting community. “Sport has given me many great things in life. Friends that have become family, I have traveled the world and seen many places people only dream of. I want to help give others the opportunity to experience what I have.”
