The 2022 LS7 Sticks In For Charity Road Hockey Tournament will take place Saturday July 9th 2022 in Etobicoke, Ontario from 9am – 5pm. 16 Teams will participate in the tournament with special guests (Olympians, NHL players, Professional Hockey Players, Public Figures and the Media) and a vibrant crowd from the neighbourhood cheering them on.

We are extremely excited about this year’s tournament and are hoping to make it the biggest and best one yet! One thing that makes this event different from the rest is the idea that everyone can play hockey; all ages, all genders – everyone! We are accepting individual players and during the opening ceremonies we will “draw sticks” in order to pick teams. This will allow all skill levels and all athletes to play at a competitive level and promote teamwork, leadership, and camaraderie.

Entry fee includes jersey, snacks, and lunch, and the tournament is open to anyone 10yrs and older. If playing in the tournament isn’t for you, please come out on the day of the event, watch the road hockey games and donate!

Laura Stacey is a 2X Olympic athlete for the Canadian National Women’s Ice Hockey Team where she won silver in Pyeongchang in 2018 and most recently Gold in Beijing in 2022. Laura embodies a true Canadian athlete, one who strives to help out her community and appreciate all those who helped her Olympics dreams come true. Laura is very active in the community, speaking at many public events and interacting with many esteemed individuals, which she owes part of her success.

Laura started her own charity road hockey tournament four years ago in her family neighbourhood of Etobicoke/Toronto, in an attempt to get kids active and involved in sport. Throughout the past four years Laura has raised roughly $20,000 which has gone towards sports equipment for Captain R Wilson Elementary School, Grindstone scholarships that allowed 12 girls to register for hockey, and 250 Bauer face shields donated to Toronto SickKids Hospital during a difficult covid time. It is Laura’s goal to help kids find their athletic passion and simply just have fun being active! She wants this program to promote teamwork, athleticism and healthy living.
