You can still apply for a KidSport grant through the Provincial Fund.\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAPPLY ONLINE NOW\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tWhat is a Grant?\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Ontario provides grants of up to $250 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st &#8211; December 31st) towards sport registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>If the child needs equipment, we will make a referral to a partner agency. Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\t<p>KidSport Ontario reviews the financial barriers faced by the child&#8217;s family when determining eligibility for grants provided through the Provincial Fund, based on the\u00a0federal government low income guidelines plus approximately 30%.<\/p>\n<p>To determine financial eligibility for grants provided through the Provincial Fund, the applicant needs to submit one of the following documents.\u00a0 Proof of income for each adult in the home is required.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Document:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canada Child Benefit Notice-page 1 and 2 most recent tax year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of Income Statement-each adult in the home- accessed through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRA My Account<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Notice of Assessment-each adult in the home-most recent tax year<\/li>\n<li>Income Support<\/li>\n<li>Subsidized Housing<\/li>\n<li>Child Health Benefit letter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em> \u00a0<\/em>If you are unsure of your eligibility to receive a grant, please reach out to             <span class=\"emailaddress-div\">\n            <a href=\"mailto:info@kidsportontario.ca\">info@kidsportontario.ca<\/a>\n            .<\/p>\n\t<h3>How Do I Apply?<\/h3>\n\t<ol>\n<li>Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program&#8217;s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding. Sport clubs must be members of their respective Provincial Sport Organization.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/[find_chapter]\">Click here<\/a> to find your local KidSport Ontario, or see if you are covered by the provincial fund<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kidsport.smartsimple.ca\/s_Login.jsp\">Apply online<\/a> or use the <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/KIDSPORT-ONTARIO-GRANT-APPLICATION-1.pdf\">paper application form<\/a> &#8211; be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.<\/li>\n<li>Your completed application will be processed within 30 days of being received. Since 1993, we have helped nearly 1 million kids off the sidelines and into a season of sport!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\">What does a KidSport grant cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and cannot be applied to transportation or tournament fees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\">What sports are eligible?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport Ontario supports participation in over 80 sports. Eligible organized sport programs and clubs must be affiliated with the provincial sport organization\/body and be a minimum of eight (8) weeks in duration. If you would like to verify if a sport program\/club qualifies for funding please contact the provincial office.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\">What communities do we serve?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>KidSport Ontario has 18 chapters, each serving their local community. Communities that do not yet have a KidSport chapter are covered by the KidSport Ontario Provincial Fund. Not sure where to apply? Click the drop-down menu at the top of the screen to see a list of our chapters.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\">When is the deadline to apply?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding. Each program is different, but many do require that KidSport funding be received prior to the program&#8217;s start date. You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your kid has been registered, as it can sometimes take up to 30 days for applications to be processed.<\/p>\n<p>Apply by Friday, May 1st, 2026 for eligible programs running from June to August, 2026<\/p>\n<p>KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\">How will I know if the application has been approved?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.<\/p>\n<p>If you have applied offline (through an emailed PDF form or through a printed form), you must include your email address in order to receive confirmation of your approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-6\">How do I demonstrate financial eligibility?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-6\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-6\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Your Proof of Income Statement can be accessed through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/e-services\/e-services-individuals\/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRA My Account<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your statement. You may also request your statement by mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>NEW:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>If your family&#8217;s financial situation has been impacted due to COVID-19, please submit your most recent Notice of Assessment (2018 or 2019) as well as verification that you have applied to, and received any of the following:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Employment Insurance Benefits<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Income Assistance or Indigenous Social Assistance<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Temporary Wage Top-Up (Low Income Essential Workers)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-7\">What if the child lives outside of the area we cover?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-7\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-7\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund.
