CHARLOTTETOWN, PE \u2013 Dairy Farmers of PEI is excited to announce a major partnership with Sport PEI, providing the organization with funding to help Island youth access the power of sport through KidSport.<\/p>\n

\u200d<\/p>\n

A fixed annual contribution will ensure that Island athletes can participate in the sports they love through the KidSport program. In addition, Dairy Farmers of PEI will be the principal presenter of the all-new\u00a0Scores! for KidSport<\/strong> program. For every goal scored by the Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL), Summerside Western Capitals (MHL), and UPEI Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s HockeyTeams (USports) during the 2021-2022 season, Dairy Farmers of PEI will donate $10 to KidSport.<\/p>\n

\u200d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t be prouder to support Sport PEI and KidSport for the upcoming sports season. This initiative aligns perfectly with our belief in supporting members of our Island community,\u201d said Gordon MacBeath, Dairy Farmers of PEI Chairman of the Board. \u201cDairy farmers have a rich history of sport involvement and it brings us great pride to be able to pass that along to other Islanders.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very excited to be partnering with the Dairy Farmers of PEI to support Island youth participating in sport,\u201d said Gemma Koughan, Executive Director for Sport PEI.\u00a0\u201cDairy Farmers of PEI represents and supports the 157 dairy producers across Prince Edward Island as they bring high-quality Island dairy from farm to table. Our organizations both strive to support Islander\u2019s health and wellness through our various initiatives.\u00a0With partners like the Dairy Farmers of PEI, KidSport PEI can help to ensure that Island kids have the opportunity to discover the joy of sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dairy Farmers of Prince Edward Island (DFPEI)<\/strong>\u00a0is the marketing organization for all PEI dairy producers. It is established under the\u00a0Natural Products Marketing Act<\/strong>\u00a0to regulate and administer the Dairy Industry in Prince Edward Island. Dairy Farmers of Prince Edward Island receives its authority through an Order in Council from the provincial government.<\/p>\n

\u200d<\/p>\n

Sport PEI<\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit sport federation providing support and leadership to the Island sport community through strategicpartnerships and delivering programs and services. Sport PEI\u00a0was created in 1973, by government, to provide support and assistance to the provincial sport governing bodies.<\/p>\n

\u200d<\/p>\n

SportJeunesse\u00a0<\/strong>is a national not-for-profit organization that helps remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing sport by providing assistance for registration fees and sport equipment to children aged18 and under. Through a confidential application process grants are given so they can play a season of sport.<\/p>\n
