My family moved to Canada from Pakistan and I wasn’t involved in sports at all. We didn’t have opportunity to play sports in Pakistan. Canadians are very lucky!
At school I learned to play basketball, softball, volleyball and archery and really enjoyed them. I wanted to play sports outside of school; however, the problem was that my parents couldn’t afford it. When I learned about KidSport through our Dream Broker consultant at school, my parents were able to get funding. It was so exciting!
I am now involved in boxing and soccer. Boxing keeps me active and it’s really fun. Sparring is my favourite! I love everything about soccer, especially making new friends and the leadership it has taught me.
At my school, I learned that KidSport pays for kids up to the age of 18 to play sports. That money really helps families, and I think that’s great. This charity is awesome because it helps so many kids play sports and keeps them healthy and active.
I don’t quite know yet what I want to be when I grow up, but maybe I will be a Dream Broker consultant and give back to KidSport in some way.
I would like to say thank you very much for helping me play sports. I really appreciate the funding my family gets, and I know my parents do as well.
