Kayden Johnson was born and raised in Saskatchewan. Kayden attended the University of Saskatchewan for one year before transferring to York University where he excelled in both track and football.

In 2020, Johnson was drafted by the BC Lions. With the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnson’s CFL career was put on pause. He used that time to pursue a spot on the Canadian bobsled team. Johnson made the 33-man team and is now looking to represent Canada in the Winter Olympic Games in 2026 in Italy.
