Company extends sponsorship for second three-year term to fund sport grants for kids

KidSport BC is excited to share that Acuitas Therapeutics has renewed their commitment for another three-year term to continue providing more kids the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. The partnership, which was first announced in 2022, will continue through the end of 2027 providing much-needed funding for KidSport BC’s granting program.

“We are so grateful to Acuitas Therapeutics for their generous support over the past three years and are thrilled they have renewed their commitment to KidSport,” says KidSport BC’s Director, Angela Crowther. “We have been seeing a significant increase in the number of grant applications from families in need and the support from Acuitas has been instrumental in helping us keep up with the growing demand in the communities we serve.”

Over the past three years, support from Acuitas Therapeutics has helped fund a season of sport for 450 kids through several chapters throughout the Lower Mainland as well as KidSport BC’s Provincial Chapter, which assists kids in more than 100 communities across BC whose families need help to cover the cost of sport registration fees.

“We believe in the power of sport to shape the future of our youth,” said Abi Coman-Walker, Chief Operating Officer of Acuitas Therapeutics. “Our support of KidSport BC is an investment in the physical well-being of children and their personal growth, confidence and community engagement.“ She added: “Every child deserves the opportunity to play sports if they are interested, and we are proud to help make that possible.”

The KidSport program was first launched in 1993 by Sport BC to help address the challenges faced by many families when registering their children in organized sport. Since then, the organization has disbursed nearly $25M to fund a season of sport for more than 95,000 kids.
