The Government of Alberta is providing $3M in funding to KidSport Alberta through the Every Kid Can Play Program. Together, we are working to keep sport affordable and accessible for Alberta kids and their families. Thanks to the support of the Government of Alberta, we will be able to assist more kids into sport in 2023! The application process will remain the same as usual.
Families can apply online using our application portal or by submitting a paper application. Please note: this funding is accesssed through our KidSport Grant and is done through the same application process.

Both KidSport Alberta and the ISCA recognize the importance of doing more to assist Indigenous children into sport. They are committed to doing their part by providing funding for sport registration fees to help break down one of the many barriers of sport participation.

Qu’est-ce qu’une subvention?
KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. The KidSport Alberta Provincial Fund provides grants of up to $350 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.
Si un enfant a besoin d’articles de sport, nous présenterons la demande à un organisme partenaire. Les subventions de SportJeunesse servent à payer les frais d’inscription au sport : les déplacements et la participation aux compétitions ne sont pas des dépenses admissibles.
Application Deadlines
The application deadline for 2023 will be in mid-December. Please apply by mid-December to ensure funds are sent to your sport club before the end of the year.
Critères d’admissibilité
KidSport Alberta uses the federal government low income guidelines plus approximately 50% to determine eligibility.
To determine financial eligibility for grants provided through the Provincial Fund, the applicant needs to submit one of the following documents. Proof of income for each adult in the home is required.
Preferred Document:
- Canada Child Benefit Notice-page 1 and 2 most recent tax year
Other Options:
- Proof of Income Statement-each adult in the home- accessed through l’ARC
- Notice of Assessment-each adult in the home-most recent tax year
- Income Support
- Subsidized Housing
- Child Health Benefit letter

Que dois-je faire pour demander une subvention?
- Trouvez un programme de sport auquel votre enfant aimerait participer et inscrivez-le. Dites aux administrateurs du programme que vous demandez une subvention de SportJeunesse.

- Remplissez la demande en ligne ou sur papier. Assurez-vous de fournir tous les renseignements demandés, car les demandes incomplètes sont beaucoup plus longues à traiter et peuvent occasionner des retards.
- Votre demande dûment remplie sera traitée dans les 30 jours suivant sa réception. Si vous êtes admissible au financement de SportJeunesse, la subvention sera envoyée directement au programme de sport auquel vous avez inscrit votre enfant.
