Sovereign Lake NC and SilverStar Mountain Resort are teaming up to present the first ever Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon. A point to party event with two of everything: two days (classic and skate), two distances each day (40km and 21km), and two ski areas (start at Sovereign Lake and finish on Main Street of SilverStar village). Giving Back As skiers, we know how much sport has given to us: physical and mental health plus simple joy. Even in non-active life stages (career, children, illness, …), we always know that sport is waiting for us. There are children who are denied these lifelong benefits for financial reasons. KidSport exists to give the life-changing power of sport to kids who would otherwise miss out. Donate directly to KidSport to allow help children participate in sport a change a child’s life or register for this fun Skiing Event to help contribute to KidSport. The Details April 2nd, 2022: Classic Day: your choice of 40km or 21km. April 3rd, 2022: Free/Skate Day: your choice of 40km or 21km. Start in a World Cup stadium at Sovereign Lake, finish on Main Street in SilverStar village. Stop at a food station, take pictures at the viewpoints, experience the trails with small wave starts to allow more room to appreciate the scenery. Build your own experience: choose between competitive and fun waves, ride the gondola on a sunny afternoon, add a multisport experience 20 minutes drive to the valley below. Charity Auction for KidSport The Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon is thrilled to offer the following auction packages made possible by our generous sponsors. Proceeds will be split 50% to the event and 50% directly to KidSport. Prizes will be awarded to the highest bid made prior to midnight on Feb 20th. In the case of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the first bid received. Prize winners will be notified by the end of day on Feb 21st. Confirmation of the award will be done once payment has been made.
