KidSport Canada is excited to partner with Canadian-based company The Meat Bar – a nutrient-rich bison and beef protein bar made from real meat. In collaboration with KidSport, The Meat Bar has introduced The Power Play Pack which will see $5.00 from every purchase donated back to KidSport. That means when you fuel your own nutrition you can also help to fuel an opportunity for a child to gain entry into sport.
“Fuel your body with nutrition but you can also help fuel someone else’s opportunity to fuel their life by starting in a sport. It’s an opportunity for you indirectly to donate to an amazing charity that will fuel someone else’s life,” said The Meat Bar founder, Chelsey Parker.
“I called it a “The Power Play” because that takes a lot of people to get. It doesn’t take just one person…they work together to achieve that goal. You as a consumer can help [create a] Power Play to get this goal. It’s also a way for them to learn more about [KidSport] and potentially help to do more”
The Meat Bar is the brainchild of Chelsey Parker, a former long-track speed skating national development team alum, who she competed in Nationals, was the National Long Track Champion for a couple of years in a row and then went onto Junior Worlds where she trained at a high level and was based out of the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Alberta. Parker went on to study Registered Massage Therapy and Occupational Health and Safety which fuelled her passion for high quality food and health and wellness.
Chelsey’s daughter, Soleil Oulovsky – who is a KidSport grant alumni herself – currently plays volleyball with the Huskie Volleyball Club, which is an affiliate program with the University of Saskatchewan. In an effort to further engage the KidSport brand, Soleil recently became the newest KidSport Canada Ambassador and hopes to engage locally to help spread the word, promote brand awareness and assist wherever possible.
“Getting the word out there by fundraising or doing events, because it’s really important to show up and get the word out,” said Soleil about becoming a KidSport Ambassador. “It shows people that you are deeply committed to the cause and not just being on social media”
