The Nic Demski Football Camp recently concluded, leaving a trail of sweat, determination, and invaluable lessons. Hosted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ star receiver Nic Demski, this camp wasn’t just about refining football skills but about fostering a passion for the game, honing skills, and, last but not least, having fun, all supporting KidSport!
The camp began with the combine, where aspiring camp participants showcased their athleticism and potential just like their professional idols before getting drafted to the big leagues. From the 40-yard dash to shuttle runs, each drill was a chance to shine and prove their tenacity. Under the watchful eyes of coaches and mentors, the participants pushed their limits and set the stage for an action-packed camp. During this time, there was a station where the participants took photos with Nic and competed in various 1-on-1 games.
Next, the young athletes went through various skills positions, from catching to defending the line of scrimmage. With the foundation laid, it was time to delve deeper into the game’s intricacies. Camp attendees refined their position-specific skills through specialized drills and hands-on guidance from seasoned professionals, University of Manitoba Bisons players, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Whether perfecting the quarterback’s spiral or mastering the art of tackling, every moment was an opportunity for growth and development.
