Apply for a Grant
With the recent Provincial Health Orders in place as of May 9th, 2021 we will not be issuing grants to sport organizations until sport is reviewed and cleared by the Province for team activity.
We strongly recommend to new applicants to only apply once your program is cleared to begin. We are only reviewing applications for sports that are cleared for in person activities.
We do not take this decision lightly, but do so only to reduce the administrative efforts of our provincial office and across the sport system. As soon as sports in Manitoba are cleared for play by public health, we will begin to process applications as efficiently as we can.
What is a Grant?
KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba provides grants of up to $300 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees. Clubs eligible for KidSport funding must be active members of their Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO). If you are not sure if the club you want to apply for is a member of their respective PSO, we recommend contacting them to find out. You can find a list of all the Provincial Sport Organizations on the Sport Manitoba website here.
Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel, competitions, uniforms and camps are not eligible for funding. Grants cannot be issued to programs/seasons that have already concluded.
Please note that KidSport Manitoba does not distribute equipment within our program, nor does the program accept equipment donations.

We understand that $300 may not be enough to cover a season of sport, or your activity may be ineligible to receive KidSport funding.
There are many great opportunities from other organizations in Manitoba that can provide funding for youth sports as well. Please take a look at the guide in this section to see what other grants you may be eligible for.
