KidSport Manitoba

Apply for a Grant

With the uncertainty around if certain sports will return and how long the seasons will be, we will not be issuing cheques to sport clubs while Manitoba is under Code Red restrictions.  We do not take this decision lightly, but do so only to reduce the administrative efforts of our provincial office and across the sport system.

As soon as sports in Manitoba are cleared for play by public health, we will begin to process applications as quickly as we can. Applications received between October 16th and when the respective sport is cleared will still be processed following our scheduled deadlines.

We are currently not accepting visitors in our provincial office, please contact KidSport Manitoba to have your questions answered. There is a dropbox for applications in the lobby of Sport Manitoba where you can submit your application.

What is a Grant?

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba provides grants of up to $300 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees. Clubs eligible for KidSport funding must be active members of their Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO). If you are not sure if the club you want to apply for is a member of thier respective PSO, we recommend contacting them to find out. You can find a list of all the Provincial Sport Organizations on the Sport Manitoba website here.

Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel, competitions, uniforms and camps are not eligible for funding.

Please note that KidSport Manitoba does not distribute equipment within our program, nor does the program accept equipment donations.
