Winnipeg – November 20, 2023 – KidSport is excited to announce the launch of the twelfth annual Give the Gift of Sport campaign across the country. The Give the Gift of Sport campaign aims to inspire Canadians to donate to our mission of ensuring no child is left on the sidelines this holiday season and beyond. With the support of long-time corporate partners such as Saputo, and the generosity of donors across the country, KidSport’s annual campaign will run from November 20, 2023 to January 8, 2024 and work towards raising $1,000,000 to get more kids off the sidelines, into the game, and experience the gift of sport.

“At KidSport, we believe that organized sport provides so many benefits to a child’s social, mental and physical well being,” said Greg Ingalls, CEO of KidSport Canada.

“However, with the unfortunate reality of financial barriers for many children across the country, we have to ensure that we continue to create access to sport for all Canadian kids.  If you were fortunate enough to be able to play sports as a child, we ask that you bring that full circle this holiday season by “Giving the Gift of Sport” to a child in your community?”

In 2022, the Give the Gift of Sport Campaign raised an incredible $820,775 across Canada. Every donation counts and will contribute to making a difference in a child’s life. An average donation of $300 can provide one child a full season of sport—the type of gift that will last well beyond the holidays.

In the last 5 years, KidSport has raised $40M and assisted 188,000 eligible children into organized sport. This year, by giving the gift of sport that you received as a kid, you can help create lasting memories and fill the gap for other kids who want to play.
