Posted by KidSport Ontario
Get your sticks ready because the LS7 Sticks In For Charity Road Hockey Tournament, hosted by Laura Stacey, is back for another year! The tournament is hosted in Laura’s hometown, Etobicoke, ON, focusing on bringing community together and making sure every kid has the opportunity to play. Laura Stacey began her hockey journey at four years old, lacing up her skates for the first time, stick in hand and big dreams. Laura followed her dreams and became a 2x Olympic medalist for Canada’s Women’s Hockey Team winning silver in Pyeongchang in 2018 and gold in Beijing in 2022. Her journey doesn’t end there, as she is currently playing on the PWHL team, Montreal Victorie, where she continues to show her passion, dedication and leadership on and off the ice. This one of a kind tournament format brings in the classic hockey tradition of drawing sticks to make 16 teams of 6. The teams are filled with players of all different ages, skill levels and backgrounds, mixing pro-athletes, Olympians as team captains, and the next generation of star hockey players together. This unique format promotes teamwork, unity and inclusion, reminding us that sports are for everyone. Come out, meet new teammates, and experience the classic joy of road hockey.
