APPLY FOR A GRANT

KidSport Fort Frances gives grants to families to help remove financial barriers to sport. KidSport grants help cover the cost of registration fees, for kids ages 3-18 years, So ALL Kids Can Play!

KidSport grants cover the cost of sport registration fees and/or equipment for qualified families. Grants are intended to remove financial barriers to sport programs, and cannot be applied to transportation or tournament fees.

KidSport supports participation in over 80 sports. Eligible organized sport programs and clubs must be affiliated with the provincial sport organization/body and be a minimum of five (5) weeks in duration or be approved by the local chapter.

You must register your kid in a sports program prior to applying for KidSport funding.  You should apply for a KidSport grant as soon as possible after your child has been registered.

KidSport grants cannot be applied to programs that have already ended or have already been paid by parent or another organization.

Each sport club is different, but many do require that KidSport registration be received prior to the program’s start date.

If you have applied online, you will be sent an automatic, system-generated email with your approval information.

If you have applied offline (in-person, through an emailed PDF form, or through a printed form), we will email or call you with follow-up information.

Your Proof of Income Statement can be accessed through CRA My Account

We strongly recommend this option, as it is free, and the fastest way to obtain your statement. You may also request your statement by mail.

We will also accept three (3) receipt pay stubs or your Canada Child Tax Benefit indicating your income.

NEW: If your family's financial situation has been impacted due to COVID-19, please submit your most recent Notice of Assessment (2018 or 2019) as well as verification that you have applied to, and received any of the following:

• Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)
• Employment Insurance Benefits
• Income Assistance or Indigenous Social Assistance
• Temporary Wage Top-Up (Low Income Essential Workers)
• Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)

If your family lives outside of the area we cover, you can apply to the KidSport Provincial Fund. The provincial fund works like a big chapter, and covers all communities that do not already have a KidSport chapter.
