After a long and hard-fought race, KidSport Alberta’s very own ambassador, Tyler Smith, and his partner Kat Kastner, came out on top of a tight final leg to become the winners of Amazing Race Canada!
Tyler, a former Humboldt Bronco and survivor of the horrific bus crash, has been a KidSport Ambassador since 2022. A force from the very first leg in wintery Winnipeg, Team #TyKat captured the hearts of Canadians while dominating large portions of the race. They won 4 individual legs before the final, despite having a large target on their backs from most of the other teams, who attempted to take them out at multiple points, to no avail.
Ty and Kat referred to “16 angels” often throughout the race, and Tyler’s heartfelt tribute to his fallen teammates during the finale was the perfect finishing touch to a race run with class, competitive spirit, and an undeniably fun and contagious energy. Team #TyKat was the class of the field all race, and we are so excited to congratulate Tyler and Kat on their huge win!
