what is the Oil Country Hockey Assist Program?

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and KidSport Alberta have teamed up AGAIN to launch the second season of the KidSport Oil Country Hockey Assist Program (HAP)!

Approved applicants within Oil Country will have their full registration fees* covered and have access to no-cost equipment from Sport Central.

*Full registration fees, up to $3,000*

 

IT'S BACK!

In the 2022/23 hockey season, we funded over 1,400 kids into hockey and we are excited to grow that number for the 2023/24 hockey season!

HOW DO I APPLY?

In order to apply for the KidSport Oil Country Hockey Assist Program,  first register with your local hockey association.

After registering, apply for KidSport funding through our standard application process.

If your child is NOT registered through Slave Lake hockey programs, first register for your hockey association of choice, then you can apply through KidSport Slave Lake to access the Oil Country Hockey Assist Program.

If you live outside of a KidSport Chapter, you can still apply for a KidSport grant through the Provincial Fund.

Does your child need equipment?

KidSport chapters refer families to Sport Central to provide necessary equipment for their sport.

Sport Central is located in Edmonton. For families located outside of Edmonton area, there are options available. A remote sizing kit can be sent to you and equipment shipment options are available through our trusted partner Rosenau Transport Ltd.
