30 Years of KidSport

Est. 1993

Our history

The KidSport concept was launched in 1993 by board and staff at Sport BC as a way to help address the challenges faced by many families when registering their children in organized sport. From a modest start in that first year, KidSport has expanded across the country to become a national entity with 11 provincial/territorial chapters and over 160 community chapters.

Thirty years later, the KidSport BC Provincial Office and KidSport Community Chapters across the province have funded a season of sport for over 80,000 kids totaling more than $19 million in grants.

Today, our mission remains the same…to remove the financial barriers that prevent some children from playing organized sport #SoALLKidsCanPlay!

Sport for ALL

In honour of our 30th Anniversary, we're hoping to fund a season of sport for 30 kids. At a $400 grant per child, that's $12,000.

Whether you give $30 or $400, any amount helps. Thanks for your support.

Thirty Years of KidSport

The skills kids learn through sports are carried with them throughout their lives, but across British Columbia kids are being left on the sidelines because they don't have the resources to play. You can help change that.
