KidSport Manitoba East Region

APPLY FOR A GRANT

With the recent Provincial Health Orders in place as of May 9th, 2021 we will not be issuing grants to sport organizations until sport is reviewed and cleared by the Province for team activity.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO NEW APPLICANTS TO ONLY APPLY ONCE YOUR PROGRAM IS CLEARED TO BEGIN. WE ARE ONLY REVIEWING APPLICATIONS FOR SPORTS THAT ARE CLEARED FOR IN PERSON ACTIVITIES.

We do not take this decision lightly, but do so only to reduce the administrative efforts of our provincial office and across the sport system. As soon as sports in Manitoba are cleared for play by public health, we will begin to process applications as efficiently as we can.

We are currently not accepting visitors in our provincial office, please contact KidSport Manitoba to have your questions answered. There is a dropbox for applications in the lobby of Sport Manitoba where you can submit your application.

What is a Grant?

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba East Region provides grants of up to $300 per eligible child, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.

KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; camps, travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.

How Do I Apply?

  1. Find a sport program your kid would like to join and sign up. Let the program’s administrators know you will be applying for KidSport funding. The sport must have an active Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) within Sport Manitoba. If you are not sure if the sport you want to apply for has a PSO, please visit here for a list of current PSO’s.
  2. Click here to find your local KidSport Chapter.
  3. Apply online or use the paper application form - be sure to complete all sections of the application, as incomplete applications take much longer to process, and can cause delays in receiving your grant.
  4. Your completed application will be processed within 30 days of being received. If you qualify for KidSport funding, the grant will be sent directly to the sport program your kid has signed up for.
