Kickoff For KidSport 2024

Kickoff for KidSport is a peer-to-peer fundraiser that challenges all Manitobans to help get more kids off the sidelines and into the game. In 2023, KidSport Manitoba granted over $500,000 to assist 1,500 kids from 106 communities across the province, and we need your help to make 2024 even more successful. Sign up for Kickoff for KidSport as an individual or team and raise money to help kids play sports while earning the opportunity to compete in the Field Goal Challenge!

During halftime of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ preseason game at Princess Auto Stadium on May 31, each of the top 5 fundraisers (or an individual representing the team) will be invited onto the field to compete in the Kickoff for KidSport Field Goal Challenge (must be 16+ to compete). In addition to helping kids enjoy a season of sport, the winner of the Field Goal Challenge will walk away with a football signed by players from the 2024 Winnipeg Blue Bombers roster. The individual or team who raises the most money will receive a pair of Winnipeg Blue Bomber 2024 Season tickets!

Benefits of Organized Sports

KidSport believes all kids should be able to develop healthy lifestyles, no matter the financial barriers. Staying physically active helps encourage children to maintain healthy habits throughout their lives. The challenges that come with playing sports also teach children valuable life lessons and skills, including leadership, dedication, and self-confidence. Through the power of organized sport, we enable kids and our communities to come together and thrive.

Football Champions

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are long-standing community supporters on and off the field. The club’s community programs focus on youth and address critical areas, including youth football, education, and leading healthy, active lives. As the KidSport Football Champions, the Bombers have generously supported Kickoff for KidSport and provided tickets, memorabilia, and experiences that assist the growth of the KidSport program.

So All Kids Can Play

Our mission is to give all kids the chance to play organized sports. To accomplish this, we need funding to administer grants. Last year, over 1,500 kids across the province received KidSport grants to play organized sports. Soccer is the highest-funded sport in Manitoba, and Football is the third-highest-funded sport in Manitoba. Together, in 2023, they made up 30% of the approved grants across all sports.
