On March 12th, 2023, KidSport had a night at the ICE game. KidSport would like to thank the Winnipeg ICE our Hockey Champions for inviting us to join them as they hosted the Brandon Wheat Kings.
The Winnipeg Ice donated a jersey that had been signed by our two KidSport ambassadors, Carson Lambos and Zach Benson. The jersey was used to raise money during the game. The winner was selected from one of the individuals who chose to donate. The jersey drive raised just over $600.00 but more importantly helped us spread our message to hundreds of fans in attendance. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the drive, listened to our story and shared yours.
We were very excited to see one of our KidSport families to be invited down to center ice for the ceremonial puck drop. Later this month we will be doing a feature on Shar and Haven Pajak specifically on how KidSport has impacted their life. Thank you to the Pajak family for both joining and sharing your story with us.
The interactions with the fans along with the puck drop and the countless kids that came up to play catch the chicken during the game the evening was so much fun. We felt so fortunate for the opportunity that the Winnipeg Ice provided us. Not only are they our Hockey Champions, but they are true leaders in our community. Currently the Winnipeg Ice have just been crowned WHL’s Eastern Champs and are continuing on the WHL Championships to punch their ticket into the Memorial Cup. We wish them the best of luck in this pursuit because we know there is no team more deserving than our Hockey Champions, the Winnipeg ICE!
