KidSport Manitoba and Viterra have teamed up to ensure all kids in the province can get Back to Sport.

The KidSport Back to Sport with Viterra project launched Tuesday to ensure that kids have an opportunity to  run, jump, learn and play through sport. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on families have increased the financial barriers associated with sport. In the month of September, Viterra will match all donations to KidSport Manitoba up to $5,000 to get kids off the sidelines and into the game. Money raised stays in each local Manitoba community.

Viterra is also challenging other Manitoban organizations to get involved.

“We strongly believe in the importance of kids playing sports to cultivate their skills, and support their physical and mental wellbeing. We encourage everyone who can, to make a contribution and join us in helping bring sports back across the province."

Kyle Jeworski, CEO of Viterra North America.

Since 1996, KidSport has helped keep kids in the province physically and mentally strong by providing financial assistance for sports registration fees. In 2020, even with COVID-19 restrictions and the different look of many organized sports, KidSport Manitoba granted over $140,000 to assist 602 children and youth in the province to get off the sidelines and into the game.
