Misha moved to Canada with his family because of the war in Ukraine. When he moved, he did not know any English but had a love for sports and began playing soccer with some of the kids in his community. As he continued participating in soccer, he developed friendships and his English language skills grew.

Since then, Misha has played many sports, including basketball, judo and jujitsu, but he’s found his true passion with wrestling. Wrestling has now become a big part of Misha’s life, helping him to continue to develop his communication skills, while also teaching him other life skills such as discipline, respect, self-defense and to never give up. This year, Misha went to Canadian Nationals where he placed second but he was aiming for first. However, he understood his mistakes and knows that next year he will be the champion, with his ultimate goal of making it to the Olympics!

Misha’s parents have been a huge part of his success and are his biggest supporters! Misha would like to thank KidSport and the donors for making sure all kids across our province get the chance to play the sports they love.
