Tonia Logan has been involved in with KidSport since 2003, when she was introduced through work while she worked in the Battlefords. She volunteered for the KidSport Battleford Chapter and loved the idea of being able to assist families to ensure they were able to be involved in sport. In 2006 when she moved to La Ronge; she decided to start the chapter there and it’s been a win for ALL.
The community of La Ronge has strongly supported KidSport over the years, making every fundraiser, initiative a success due to the generosity of local businesses, organizations and residents. A very memorable moment in the last 19 years was KidSport La Ronge was recognized and honored as Non-Profit of the year at the La Ronge and Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala in 2022. “We are most proud that La Ronge and Area Chapter has helped over 3,200 kids from our area as well being the only Northern Chapter in Saskatchewan,“ Logan said, “Volunteering is so important as it provides opportunities to grow your community development. It brings a sense of satisfaction and happiness by connecting with others, supporting a good cause and giving back to your community!”
Tonia’s piece of advice to those looking at getting involved with KidSport, “Stay Open: be cool with trying out new roles or tasks, even if they feel a bit outside your usual groove. You never know setting into something different might teach you something awesome.”
Thank you Tonia for your dedication So ALL Kids Can Play!
