As a former professional hockey player, Garry knows firsthand how sport can enhance the quality of a child’s life. His hockey debut started with playing junior hockey with the Regina Pats and went on to play for four teams in eight National Hockey League seasons.

Helping Saskatchewan youth is a priority for him, and he has worked decades to give our youth the same sport opportunities that he had … So ALL Kids Can Play! Garry is known as much for his philanthropy work as his days playing professional hockey. He began by speaking to others on the importance of helping youth realize their dreams through the power of sport and continues to support his belief through his continued support of KidSport. Garry has supported KidSport as an ambassador and provided the inspiration for key KidSport Saskatchewan events, such as hosting the Peters and Pilon Celebrity Golf Tournament.
