Over the past year, BC Soccer was encouraged to see so many young people returning to their local fields and having what felt like a “normal” soccer season again. Many families have been stretched over the last 2 plus years, and the current economic climate is again putting increased pressure on household spending, which often impacts sporting activity. That’s why BC Soccer is pleased to once again provide a $25,000 contribution to Kid Sport BC.

The Association’s continuing partnership and commitment to KidSport ensures that hundreds of families across the province that otherwise would not be able to do so, can enjoy participation in soccer.

“On behalf of KidSport BC and the kids and families this donation will support, I would like to thank BC Soccer for this generous donation. Soccer is consistently the top-funded sport through KidSport grants in BC and this donation will help ensure more kids across the province are able to participate regardless of their financial background. Thank you, BC Soccer, for your continued commitment to supporting KidSport’s vision of giving ALL children the opportunity to participate in sport.” –Angela Crowther, KidSport BC Fundraising Manager

“Supporting KidSport BC, is a win-win for us, because the work they do benefits not only the participants, but also our members and affiliated clubs around the Province as they register the players and provide the soccer programming” said Jason Elligott, Executive Director.

Safe Sport Statement

BC Soccer believes that everyone involved in soccer has the right to participate in safe and inclusive environments free of abuse, harassment, discrimination, and to enjoy the sport at whatever level or capacity they participate in. The welfare of everyone involved in soccer is the foremost consideration and in particular, the protection of children in the sport is the responsibility of everyone involved.
