Alysia (aka Rizz) is a pilot for the Canadian women’s bobsleigh team and a 2018 Olympian. She grew up in Edmonton playing every sport imaginable and attended the University of Alberta on both a Track and Field and Basketball scholarship where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Alysia moved to Calgary at the end of 2012 to pursue bobsledding for team Alberta, spending one year as a brakeman before learning how to drive the sled. She has been with the national team since 2016 and was the first woman to ever pilot a 4-man sled with a crew of all women in an International race. When Alysia isn’t racing her bobsled around the world she’s watching sports, petting dogs, and spending as much time as possible outside.

I wanted to align myself with KidSport because I know first hand how important it is for kids to play sports as they grow up. I believe sport can be one of the best ways to develop real life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
