Chris played hockey the WHL for the Red Deer Rebels and Swift Current Broncos. After a workplace injury, he had his right leg amputated above the knee and took up sledge hockey in 2012. During his sledge career he played with the national program for 6 years. He captained the development team was a alternate for the Sochi Paralympics and won a silver medal at the 2015 IPC world Championships. Chris is also the first above knee amputee Fire Fighter in North America and was named one of Shaw’s 50 Outstanding Canadians.
