Celebrating Black History Month at KidSport Edmonton, we are featuring some notable members of the Edmonton Black Community who have made significant contributions to the sporting world-whether as athletes, coaches, mentors, or general members of the community.
Our first feature is Kondeh Mansaray, Founder and Sporting Director of BTB Academy. BTB (Born to Be) has risen to become one of the most successful soccer clubs in not only Edmonton, but Alberta and Canada. In 2024, the club won 3 of 4 youth Provincial Championships that led to Canadian Nationals. All three teams medalled at the CSA National Championships with the U17 Girls winning Gold, U15 Boys taking home Silver and the U17 Boys capturing Bronze.
