The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) has invested $1.5M to continue the HAP program for the third straight year!

The Hockey Assist Program (HAP) is a fee assistance program that covers a portion, if not all, of the registration fee connected to competition and season-based ice hockey programs.

• HAP Season 3 Funding Rules:
  • Season 3 runs from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025
  • Maximum funding amount available per kid is $750.
  • A kid is only eligible for HAP funding ONCE per season (i.e., learn to skate program OR full hockey season)
    • If your child will be registered for learn to skate and hockey this season, apply for the more expensive program through the KidSport HAP program.
  • All approved kids receive access to no-cost sport equipment through Sport Central

The Oil Country Hockey Assist Program helps subsidize hockey registration (max: $750) and gives you access to no-cost equipment through Sport Central.

The following programs are covered through the HAP program. A kid can use HAP funding to cover one of the hockey or skating programs below:

• Hockey Alberta Based Programs
• Para Hockey Programs
• Recreation Programs
• Pond Programs
• Shinny Programs, or
• Learn to Skate Programs

**NOTE: A kid is only eligible for funding for ONE program per HAP season, so please apply accordingly **

The following programs are NOT covered by the Oil Country Hockey Assist Program:

• Unsanctioned Programs and Academies (i.e. HSL, JPHL, CSSHL)
• Ringette
• Ball hockey
• Roller hockey
• Figure Skating
• Hockey based camps
• Power Skating
• Skill Development Programs
• Try It Programs

• Additional fees outside of registration cost
  • Tryout fees
  • Volunteer Opt-Out fees
  • Team fees
  • Tournament fees
  • Transportation
  • Cash calls

Please submit page 2 of your Canada Child Benefit Notice from the most recent tax year with your application.

Page 2 of this notice states the family net income and lists your children's names.

This notice is mailed to all families in June or July each year, or can be accessed on your CRA online account.
